PREPARING OUR YOUTH
FOR A BRIGHT FUTURE
Texas Takeover Elite is a four-year organization that was created in the summer of 2019 by Coach Nick Ned, a graduate of Cy-Fair ISD’s Langham Creek High School. After serving 8 years as an assistant coach for another youth basketball organization in Alief, Coach Ned realized that – with his personal student-athlete experience and deep connection to the Houston community – he could expand and assist even more athletes throughout Houston.
In just its first year, Texas Takeover Elite successfully led seven teams, with each team winning at least one tournament. Even without a shoe sponsorship, the 16U team was consistently ranked as a top-five team in Houston and placed third in the 17U Platinum Bracket of the Prep Hoops Finale, a nationally recognized circuit. Another team placed first in the 17U Gold Bracket of the Prep Hoops Finale. In 2020, TTE launched its summer season with an incredible 12 TEAMS, even during the uncertainty of the pandemic.
Each year, TTE has continued to expand and secured an apparel sponsorship from Adidas for the 2021 season and a partnership with the JR NBA for the middle school division, giving those players the opportunity to participate in tournaments throughout the country. Over the last three years, TTE has assisted 34 seniors with receiving college basketball scholarships. That is the goal of the Texas Takeover Elite organization, after all. Coach Ned is a decorated athlete himself, and played high school varsity football, track and basketball and continued on to play Division I football in college. Coach Ned and his coaching staff understand the unique issues that student-athletes face on a day-to-day basis, and they are devoted to providing each athlete with the necessary skills they need to succeed beyond the court.
