TTE Player Shows His Growth During The Scholastic Season

2025 Point Guard, Montana Wheeler has had an OUTSTANDING sophomore campaign for Houston Christian High School. This includes a SPC 4A State Championship, along with plenty of attention from college coaches. During the 2022 Summer Season, Texas Takeover Elite stepped out on a limb and made an unprecedented decision to embrace Montana's talent and competitive spirit, and allowed him to play on their 17U National Adidas team as only a freshman in High School. And this wasn't just any ordinary independent team, this was a team that saw 5 players commit to a D1 program, all on the same team. Montana and his father, Teddy Wheeler, trusted the organization with his growth and development and the partnership would bear the fruits of it's labor during the 2022-2023 Scholastic Season. The combination of coaching, exposure and a grueling schedule (which included a win over EYBL JL3 Elite) Montana matured both physically and mentally, and garnished attention from multiple D1 programs. This also thrusted Montana into the conversation of "Best Point Guard In Houston" regardless of classification. Under the coaching leadership of Coach Philip Pete and Coach Jeremy Peters, Montana was given the freedom and latitude to explore all aspects of his game throughout the Summer. So when the Scholastic Season began, Houston Christian HS Head Coach Ron Crandall, had himself a new player. A true point guard that understood his game, who could keep his teammates involved, who could be an extension of the coach on the floor and scored whenever his team needed him to. And when the lights were their brightest, Montana SHINE, scoring 24 points and 9 assists in a State Championship win over Episcopal High School. Montana finished his sophomore season averaging 21 ppg, 8.5 apg, 3 rpg and 1.5 spg. Way to play Montana, your TTE family is proud of all that you have accomplished and wish nothing but blessings for you moving forward.
